IMPORTANT NOTICE!!!

1.EVISA APPLICATION

The official government website for the application for Evisa for Kenya, is www.ecitizen.go.ke

The website www.kenya-evisa-online.com is not authorised to process or issue Evisas for Kenya. DO NOT APPLY FOR AN EVISA THROUGH THIS WEBSITE!!!

2. APPLICATION TIME-FRAME

Apply for the visa to Kenya, at the earliest, 8 weeks before the planned date of entry. The visa is issued with a validity entry period of 90 days.

3. YELLOW FEVER VACCINATION UPDATE (26.05.2016)

The Embassy wishes to inform travellers who come from or transit through countries with risk of Yellow Fever that they will have to produce a Yellow Fever vaccination certificate upon arrival in Kenya. It is therefore advisable that travellers seek medical advice on the necessity of being vaccinated against Yellow Fever, if travelling or transiting from a prevalent country.

4.EXEMPTION OF VISA FEES FOR CHILDREN UNDER 16

With effect from 1st February 2016, children under the age of 16 years accompanying their parents to Kenya are exempted from paying visa fees. Do not submit an application or make any visa fees payment for a child under the age of 16 years.

5. POSTAL DELIVERY OF VISA APPLICATIONS

For security purposes, all visa applications sent by post as from 1st April 2016 must now be forwarded to the Embassy through DHL EXPRESSEASY PREPAID NATIONAL™ and a self-addressed return envelope of the same kind attached for sending the passport back. Passports will no longer be sent back to clients through registered mail. Family members or those travelling together can send their applications in one envelope and attach one envelope for sending back the passports.

ISSUANCE OF VISAS FOR KENYA

Single Journey Visa Applications can be made online (E-Visa), at the Embassy or on arrival (VOA).

1. E-VISA APPLICATION:

a) All applicants must have their own email address in order to register on the eCitizen website.

b) Each applicant will need to have the following documents when applying for an eVisa:

  1. A national passport with a validity of not less than 6 months on the intended date of entry. Holders of Travel Documents and Nationals on the Referred Visa List of countries (see No. 4 below) have to apply for referred visas.

  2. A digital biometric passport photo.

  3. A credit card.

  4. The flight booking and/or travel itinerary

DISCLAIMER

1. The visa processing fee is non-refundable.

2. Incomplete applications will be rejected.

3. The possession of an eVisa is not the final Authority to enter the Republic of Kenya.

4. Engaging in any form of business or employment without a requisite permit or pass is an offense and shall render the visa null and void.

5. A visa is required prior to entry into the Republic of Kenya.

6. The eVisa is available for printout from your eVisa online account normally after 48 hour. Log in an print it out. You will NOT be sent any email  notification

7. the eVisa printout must be presented at the port of entry.

2. VISA ISSUANCE AT THE EMBASSY

All visa applications sent by post must now be forwarded to the Embassy through DHL EXPRESSEASY PREPAID NATIONAL™ and a self-addressed return envelope of the same kind attached for sending the passport back. EINSCHREIBEN will no longer be accepted.

I. SINGLE JOURNEY VISA (TOURISM AND BUSINESS)

Only for tourism and business.

Ensure that you have the latest PDF-Reader installed on your computer to be able to fully access the visa application form below.

- Duly filled application Form 22.

- Original passport with validity of not less than six months.

- One passport-size photograph attached to the top right side of the application form.

- For business visas: Copies of an invitation letter from the company/firm in Kenya and a letter of intent from the employer.

- bank transfer voucher of 40.00 Euro fee.

- A DHL EXPRESSEASY PREPAID NATIONAL envelope for return of passport

II. DIPLOMATIC, OFFICIAL, AND SERVICE VISITS  

Issued only to holders of diplomatic, official and service passports on official visits to Kenya

  • Duly filled Application form

  • Original Passport with validity of not less than 6 months

  • One passport size photo attached to the top right side of the Application Form.

  • Original Note Verbale

  • A DHL EXPRESSEASY PREPAID NATIONAL Envelope for the return of the passport if delivered by post.

  • Fee: Gratis

III. EAST AFRICA TOURIST VISA (EATV)

This visa is valid for multiple entries to Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda for a period of 90 days, for tourism purposes only. Applicants must first be entering Kenya in order for the EATV to be issued by the Kenya Embassy.

IV. MULTIPLE JOURNEY VISA (1 YEAR)

The Embassy only processes this for business people who are able to prove that they have entered Kenya at least 3 times in a calendar year.

V. REFERRED VISAS

This category of visa is applicable to:

a) Nationals of the following countries:

  1. AFGHANISTAN
  2. ARMENIA
  3. AZERBAIJAN
  4. CAMEROON
  5. DEMOCRATIC PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF KOREA (FORMERLY NORTH KOREA)
  6. ERITREA
  7. IRAQ
  8. KOSOVO
  9. LEBANON
  10. LIBYA
  11. MALI
  12. PALESTINE
  13. SENEGAL
  14. SOMALI
  15. SYRIA
  16. TADJKISTAN
  17. YEMEN

b) All foreigners holding blue or grey Travel Documents (Reiseausweis für Ausländer) not issued by their own country of nationality, including recognized refugee holders of the United Nations Refugee Travel Documents. 

3. VISA ON ARRIVAL (VOA)

Nationals from countries not on the Referral List can get visas upon arrival at any official port of entry in Kenya by presenting the following;

  1. A duly filled application Form 22
  2. A passport valid for at least 6 months on the date of entry to Kenya
  3. Return or onward ticket and travel itinerary
  4. A fee of 40 Euros or 50 Dollars payable only in cash.
  5. For business travellers: a copy of letters from the companies involved in English.
