IMPORTANT NOTICE!!!
1.EVISA APPLICATION
The official government website for the application for Evisa for Kenya, is www.evisa.go.ke
Any other website is an agency that will charge you extra fees are not authorised to process or issue Evisas for Kenya. DO NOT APPLY FOR AN EVISA THROUGH THESE WEBSITES!!!
2. APPLICATION TIME-FRAME
Apply for the visa to Kenya, at the earliest, 8 weeks before the planned date of entry. The visa is issued with an entry validity entry period of 90 days.
3. YELLOW FEVER VACCINATION UPDATE (26.05.2016)
The Embassy wishes to inform travellers who come from or transit through countries with risk of Yellow Fever that they will have to produce a Yellow Fever vaccination certificate upon arrival in Kenya. It is therefore advisable that travellers seek medical advice on the necessity of being vaccinated against Yellow Fever, if travelling or transiting from a prevalent country.
4.EXEMPTION OF VISA FEES FOR CHILDREN UNDER 16
Since 1st February 2016, children under the age of 16 years accompanying their parents to Kenya are exempted from the visa requirement. Do not submit a visa application or make any visa fees payment for a child under the age of 16 years. (Status: 2018)
ISSUANCE OF VISAS FOR KENYA
All Visa Applications must be made online (E-Visa) on www.evisa.go.ke . The Embassy will no longer issue visas from 1st January 2021. Visa on arrival is also not available any more.
1. E-VISA APPLICATION:
a) All applicants must have their own email address in order to register on the eCitizen website.
b) Each applicant will need to have the following documents when applying for an eVisa:
- A national passport with a validity of not less than 6 months on the intended date of entry. Holders of Travel Documents and Nationals on the Referred Visa List of countries (see No. 4 below) have to apply for referred visas.
- A digital biometric passport photo.
- A credit card.
- The flight booking
- Hotel booking (for holidays and tourist stay)
- A letter of invitation and copy of host's Kenyan ID card or Aliens Card (for foreign nationals)
- Additional documents for courtesy, business, referred and multiple journey visa are stated online under the application.
DISCLAIMER
1. The visa processing fee is non-refundable.
2. Incomplete applications will be rejected.
3. The possession of an eVisa is not the final Authority to enter the Republic of Kenya.
4. Engaging in any form of business or employment without a requisite permit or pass is an offense and shall render the visa null and void.
5. A visa is required prior to entry into the Republic of Kenya.
6. The eVisa is available for printout from your eVisa online account after it has been issued. Log in an print it out. You will NOT be sent any email notification.
7. the eVisa Printout or Invoice of Payment (if your visa status is still pending on the date of your travel) must be presented at the port of entry.

TYPES OF VISAS ISSUED ONLINE
I. SINGLE JOURNEY VISA
This is valid for a single entry in to Kenya for a period of up to 90 days.
II. COURTESY VISA FOR DIPLOMATIC, OFFICIAL, AND SERVICE VISITS
Issued only to holders of diplomatic, official and service passports on official visits to Kenya
III. MULTIPLE JOURNEY VISA (1 YEAR)
The Embassy only processes this for business people who are able to prove that they have entered Kenya at least 3 times in a calendar year.
IV. REFERRED VISAS
This category of visa is applicable to:
a) Nationals of the following countries:
- AFGHANISTAN
- ARMENIA
- DEMOCRATIC PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF KOREA (FORMERLY NORTH KOREA)
- IRAQ
- KOSOVO
- LEBANON
- LIBYA
- PALESTINE
- SOMALI
- SYRIA
- TADJKISTAN
- YEMEN
b) All foreigners holding blue or grey Travel Documents (Reiseausweis für Ausländer) not issued by their own country of nationality, including recognized refugee holders of the United Nations Refugee Travel Documents.
