Epassport application submission and biometrics

Dear epassport clients, we have resumed epassport services for the very urgent cases first.

Please read through this information page carefully before booking the appointment.

New appointment slots (green dots on the calender) are availed for booking every 2 weeks. Once all appointment slots are fully booked, the booking calender will remain blank and the message 'No event found for the given period!' will appear until the next appointments are available for booking.



1. Urgent cases are classified as follows:

  • Passports that have expired or are expiring in August 2021.

  • Lost passport cases

  • Infants who do not have any other nationality except Kenyan and require a passport urgently for residence permit issuance.

If your passport is still valid beyond August, await to book after the urgent cases stated above.

2. Who can be processed when?

  • Biometrics for adults (EPP1 Reference) may be booked for Tuesdays and Wednesdays only
  • Biometrics for children (CPP1 Reference) may be booked for Thursdays only.

If you book an appoinment for a day that is not for your age group, it will be cancelled.

3. Verification of your booking

  • Once you have booked your appointment, you will receive a confirmation email after 24 hours.

  • Once you receive the booking confirmation email, reply to the same email by attaching a current photo of the passport being replaced, your ID card, birth certificate, the four pages of your ecitizen passport application form in PDF/ or/ your child's international birth certificate and passport for replacement cases as well as the ecitizen passport application form in PDF for the verification of your booking.

  • For children born in Europe, you have to present an international birth certificate bearing 3 languages. Click here to see a sample. Your appointent will be cancelled if you do not have this document at the time of booking. 

If you fail to email a photo of the documents stated above within 24 hours, your appointment will be cancelled and made available for someone else to book.

4. What can you do if all the appointment slots are fully booked?

Once all appointment slots are booked, you have to wait until the next slots are made available.

5. Note the following before you book:

  • Do not attempt to make a booking for ePassport biometrics unless you have finished the application process on ecitizen! You MUST first apply for the epassport on

  • Ensure that you enter your eCitizen EPP1/CPP1 application reference as follows EPP1-XXXXXX (enter the number) or CPP1-XXXXXX (enter the number) on the required field when booking the appointment. Appointments booked without entering this important reference will be cancelled.

  • Ensure that you enter the name of the applicant whose biometrics will be captured on the booking portal and not of the person booking.

  • Each applicant must be booked for an appointment slot separately.

  • You must have an original Kenyan ID card and birth certificate among other requirements to be able to apply for the ePassport in Berlin. Applicants without these originals will not be processed.

A confirmation email will be sent to your email automatically upon a successfull booking. If you do not receive one, you might have entered your email incorrectly or check your spam folder. Ensure that you fill in the required field CORRECTLY.
