A team of four officials from the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Ministry of Trade, led by the Director for External Trade, Mr. Eric Ronge, carried out an inspection tour of the Commercial Office at the Embassy from 16th-20th April 2008. The team also comprised the Deputy Director for Human Resource Management, Mr. Cleophas Kaseya, Chief Finance Officer Mrs. Grace Kamasara and Accounts Controller, Mr. Laban Kimemia.

The purpose of the tour was to discuss issues pertinent to the promotion of trade and investment, including the financing of the section, with the aim of maximizing on existing opportunities and trade potential. The team also sought to appraise the Commercial Attache on reforms that are taking place in the public sector. While in Germany, the team held discussions with H.E Ambassador H. Mutuma Kathurima, which focused on means of promoting Kenyan products in the German Market. The group also met the Financial Attache and members of Local Staff from the Commercial Section and attended sessions of the German Tea Council’s Annual General Meeting.
