EVISA AND COVID 19 TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS FROM 01.01.2021
The Republic of Kenya has fully automated the issuance of visa with effect from January 1, 2021.
In this regard, all passengers travelling to Kenya from countries that require visas to enter Kenya shall be required to apply and obtain eVisa before boarding an aircraft as no visas will be issued on arrival.
YOU HAVE TO APPLY FOR THE EVISA AT LEAST EIGHT (8) WEEKS BEFORE YOUR TRAVEL DATE.
Holders of passports from the following countries:
Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Democratic Republic of Korea (Formerly N.Korea), Eritrea, Iraq, Jordan, Kosovo, Lebanon, Palestine, Somalia, Syria, Tajikistan, Yemen, as well as well as those holding Travel Documents issued to Refugees and Asylum Seekers require Referred Visa and the processing period is up to 6 weeks.
Applying for evisa to visit Kenya involves three simple steps:
1. Create an account at evisa.go.ke
2. Fill the application form, upload the requirements and pay
3. Download the eVisa PDF from your account once it is approved.

This is for the following visa categories:
- Single Entry Visa for Kenya
- Courtesy/Diplomatic Visa
- East Africa Tourist Visa
- Multiple Entry Visa (Processing time is up to 6 weeks and only for proven frequent trips in a calender year)
- Transit Visa
- 5 Year Multiple Entry Visa for USA citizens only
Kindly Note that the Embassy is not the issuer of evisas. For any issue with your evisa, you have to contact Evisa directly through their contact details on your evisa account.
COVID 19 TRAVEL INFORMATION
All travellers must have a negative PCR-based COVID-19 test carried within 96 hours prior to travel. Travellers from the linked list of approved states on the KCAA website will be exempted from quarantine: https://www.kcaa.or.ke/quarantine-exempted-states
With effect from 11th January 2021, all passengers to the Africa Union must register on the website: https://trustedtravel.panabios.org
After registering:
1. Proceed to Check in
2. Select Departure and Destination Countries
3. Upload your Lab Test Certificate
4. Provide travel details as requested on the form and click on save to proceed
5. A TT code is generated for you which you can download to present on travel when requested
